The legal community in Ontario is mourning one of its own. Grosman Gale Fletcher Hopkins LLP posted a tribute to Voula Michaelidis, a colleague and partner, who “bravely fought a battle against cancer.”
“Her dedication, wisdom, and warmth touched many lives within our firm and the community,” it said in a LinkedIn post. “Her legacy of hard work and kindness will forever inspire us. Our deepest condolences are extended to her family and friends during this difficult time.”
The Employment Lawyers Association of Ontario (ELAO) marked her passing with a post that lauded her as a “true industry luminary.”
“Voula Michaelidis… left an indelible mark on us all,” it said. “With profound sadness, we mourn the loss of a colleague, mentor and friend.”
Her family paid tribute to her in a post.
“She accomplished so much in her 53 beautiful years. Mom was a devoted wife to Sanford, loving mother to Us (Jason, Katherine, Hanna and Matthew), caring daughter to George and Irene, supportive sister to Bill, and an inspiration to family and friends,” it said.
For those who wish to attend, visitation is this Tues. Nov. 21, 4-8pm at Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres (Elgin Mills and Leslie). Funeral service will be this Wed. 11am at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church at Warden/Ellesmere in Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donation be sent in her memory to the Toronto Humane Society “in honour of mom and the love of her pets.”
