David Gelles joins Rudner Law as an associate

by HR Law Canada

David Gelles has joined Markham, Ont.-based Rudner Law as an associate. The firm, founded by Stuart Rudner, made the announcement in a LinkedIn post — stating it was “thrilled to introduce you to our new associate.”

After being called to the bar in June 2022, he completed the Law Practice Program (LPP) at one of Ontario’s largest community legal clinics and began working there as a lawyer, according to his bio on the firm’s website.

“My practice there involved dealing with employment matters for employees in vulnerable positions – I often dealt with cases addressing workplace harassment and human rights violations in the employment law context,” writes Gelles.

“Having successfully resolved these kinds of files largely on my own, as a first year call, I began looking for my next challenge. I joined Rudner Law because I want to take on more complex files, for both employers and employees. I believe that knowing the ins and outs of both sides allows me to give better employment law advice.”

Gelles has undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, with a double major in history and political science. He studied law at McGill University in Montreal and graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Juris Doctor (JD).
