Loopstra Nixon LLP has expanded its presence with the inauguration of a new office in Ottawa’s central business district. This strategic move by the firm aligns with increased demand for its services in the region, it said in a press release.
Corporate and estates attorney Mike Segal will be spearheading the firm’s operations in Ottawa as its inaugural partner. Commenting on the expansion, Segal, who is also the Chair of the Business Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, stated, “Loopstra Nixon’s entrepreneurial ethos aligns with the needs of my clients, and I’m enthusiastic about extending its diverse range of services to the National Capital Region.”
Loopstra Nixon’s Managing Partner, Allan Ritchie, expressed confidence in Segal’s capabilities, noting, “Mike is not only aligned with our dedication to client service, but he’s also a highly esteemed member of our profession.”
The Ottawa region, renowned for its burgeoning technology and biotech sectors, has been on Loopstra Nixon’s radar for expansion for some time, it said. The area, with its plethora of independent businesses, resonates with the firm’s focus on the mid-market sector.
Over the forthcoming months, Loopstra Nixon aims to fortify its Ottawa team by hiring lawyers across its principal areas of expertise.
Strategically located in the previous headquarters of Shopify, the Ottawa office is envisioned to support Loopstra Nixon’s growth objectives in the foreseeable future, it said.
