Barry B. Fisher, an Ontario-based labour and employment lawyer and mediator, has taken sole ownership of the Wrongful Dismissal Database (WDD).

The database, which was launched in 2007, was previously managed by Thomson Reuters.

“Many new and exciting changes are coming, including new pricing arrangements which will make this product accessible to all law firms and sole practitioners,” Fisher said in a LinkedIn post.

The database is used by lawyers, human resources managers, employers and employees to “determine the appropriate severance offer (the number of weeks’ pay owed) to an employee being terminated without cause,” according to the FAQ section on the website.
