Joshua Wallace has been named the inaugural winner of the Rubin Thomlinson LLP Workplace Human Rights Award.

The award is offered to students of Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) Lincoln Alexander School of Law.

“This award, established in 2023 on the firm’s 20th anniversary, recognizes the achievements and commitment of an upper-year student at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law who demonstrates a deep interest in workplace human rights issues,” according to a LinkedIn post from Rubin Thomlinson LLP.

“We applaud Josh’s exceptional dedication to enhancing human rights in the workplace, and commend his efforts in promoting inclusivity within the professional landscape,” it said. “This dedication is evident through his work at the Young Workers Rights Hub at TMU, and his significant contribution to the Black Law Students’ Association at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law.”

According to Wallace’s LinkedIn profile, he is currently a summer law student at McCarthy Tétrault and a Juris Doctor candidate at TMU.

Prior to law school, Wallace obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Guelph, with a double major in Criminal Justice Public Policy, and Political Science.
