CanLII is looking for volunteers to help author an annotated guide to the Employment Standards Act, 2000 in Ontario. The goal is provide a clear, accessible resource to better understand the rights and obligations under Ontario’s employment laws.
“The new ESA Project is meant to build off of the highly successful Annotated Rules of Civil Procedure,” said Andrew Monkhouse, managing partner at Monkhouse Law Employment Lawyers. “”This new project by Canlii seeks to bring accessibility to workplace laws for free across the province.”
The project seeks to engage lawyers, paralegals, HR experts, and law students — offering them a platform to contribute their knowledge and insights. Volunteers will be tasked with annotating various sections of the Act, explaining legal provisions in plain language, citing relevant case law, and offering practical insights.
“”We expect the Annotated ESA will be a very useful tool in HR Programs, Law offices, College Campuses, and law schools across the Province,” said Monkhouse.
Interested participants are encouraged to submit an expression of interest, detailing their relevant experience and preferred sections of the Act to annotate.
Inquiries and submissions should be directed to Monkhouse via email at [email protected].
