Rachel Notley, former premier of Alberta, will join Southern Butler Price LLP in January 2025, the firm said. She brings experience in leadership, governance and conflict resolution, which may draw interest from employers navigating complex workplace matters.
“Rachel has shown incomparable leadership in Canada, and her commitment to equity and fairness is a perfect fit for the work we do helping some of the country’s largest employers,” said Nicole Price, managing partner at Southern Butler Price.
Notley served as MLA, leader of the official opposition and premier of Alberta. Her legal background aligns with the firm’s focus on assisting employers with workplace challenges. According to Southern Butler Price, she will work out of its Alberta office and offer her expertise in leadership, governance, conflict resolution and equity initiatives, as well as provide coaching and guidance on complex complaints and investigations.
“I’m thrilled to join Southern Butler Price, a firm that stands out for its bold, innovative approach to supporting positive change in workplaces nationwide,” said Notley. “Led by an extraordinary team of women I deeply admire, SBP is setting a new standard for fairness and forward-thinking solutions. I’m eager to bring my experience to this dynamic and inspiring team.”
