The New Brunswick Human Rights Commission is accepting nominations for the 2023 New Brunswick Human Rights Award until May 31.

The commission presents the award each year to New Brunswickers who have made exceptional contributions to advancing human rights, equality, diversity and inclusion in the province. The commission also presents the annual Youth Human Rights Award to celebrate the commitment of young New Brunswickers to build a better future for the province.

“Our recipients are role models for New Brunswick residents, as their commitment to equality and non-discrimination make lasting changes in the province’s social fabric and create a welcoming and inclusive place for all New Brunswickers,” said commission chair Claire Roussel-Sullivan. “I encourage New Brunswickers to submit a nomination for this year’s award and recognize individuals and organizations working to make a difference in our communities.”

The 2022 Human Rights Award was presented to Mamadou Oury Diallo of Moncton, and the Youth Human Rights Award to Cassandra Pitchford of Fredericton.

The nomination form and information about the nomination process are available on the commission’s website or by phone at 1-888-471-2233.
