Stephanie Kalinowski joins Torys as a partner in its pensions and employment practice

Stephanie Kalinowski has joined the law firm Torys as a new partner in its pensions and employment practice.

As a seasoned lawyer, Kalinowski specializes in advising employers, plan administrators, and service providers on regulatory, governance, compliance, and tax matters related to pension, retirement, and group benefit plans. Additionally, she brings expertise in cash and equity incentive plans, executive compensation matters, and cross-border issues.

Her contributions to the pensions industry have been recognized in notable publications, including Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers, and Who’s Who Legal. Her involvement in advocacy groups has been commendable, having previously served as Past-Chair of both the Ontario Regional Council and the National Policy Committee of the Association of Canadian Pension Management.

In her new role at Torys, Kalinowski will be actively involved in the Pensions and Employment practice, providing strategic advice on compliance, governance, and implementation issues related to various pension plans.

Her extensive experience encompasses specialized areas such as CAAT pension plan participation and mergers, the resolution of enrolment and contribution errors in pension plans, pension plan de-risking, annuity purchases, and handling pension-related aspects in corporate transactions.
