BCF expands labour and employment law expertise in Quebec with acquisition of Gravel2 Avocats

by HR Law Canada

BCF Business Law has acquired Gravel2 Avocats, a boutique firm specializing in labour and employment law, in a move that strengthens BCF’s presence in the Québec market and expands its expertise in advising employers.

The acquisition, announced Tuesday, brings nearly 10 professionals — including founder Claude Gravel — into the BCF fold. The firm said the integration will reinforce its ability to serve clients amid a rapidly evolving labour market shaped by technological change, including artificial intelligence, and organizational transformation.

“Joining BCF represents a unique opportunity to pursue and accelerate our mission within a broader framework, without losing our DNA or the values that have made us successful,” said Gravel. “We look forward to contributing to a culture where the development of people and expertise as well as service excellence are central priorities.”

Julie Doré, managing partner at BCF, said the addition is aligned with the firm’s strategy of expanding its practice areas and attracting seasoned professionals.

“This integration is part of our drive to develop our practice areas and attract experts who will enable our clients and organizations from all walks of life not only to understand trends and challenges but also to influence them and take advantage of the resulting opportunities,” she said.

Founded in 2015, Gravel2 has focused exclusively on representing employers in labour, employment and pension law matters. Its approach emphasizes tailored, strategic advice rooted in a deep understanding of employer needs.
