by HR Law Canada

Saskatchewan’s minimum wage will rise to $15 an hour on Oct. 1, 2024.

The province said that, in 2022, it indicated it would make “incremental” increases to the wage rate over a two-year period. In 2022, it was increased from $11.81 to $13 an hour, followed by a $1 increase each year following until the minimum wage reached $15.

“Increasing minimum wage is one way we are supporting workers in this province,” Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don McMorris said. “Saskatchewan also continues to have among the lowest personal taxes in Canada which makes it a great place to live, work and raise a family.”

The province noted that, in 2007, the minimum wage was $7.95. With the increase on October 1, the minimum wage will have increased by nearly 89 per cent, it said.
