Video Case Spotlight: Nova Scotia paralegal fired after terminating her pregnancy

A Nova Scotia law firm that was initially empathetic to the plight of one its workers, who lost her baby when she ended a pregnancy for medical reasons, discriminated against her on the basis of sex.

The province’s Human Rights Commission said the law firm had a ‘sharp’ response when the woman told them she was struggling more than she expected in coping with the loss and needed more time off work than initially planned.
