The Law Society of Ontario has reprimanded and fined L.S., a Toronto-based employment lawyer, $5,000 for engaging in professional misconduct.
The panel determined that the following allegation was established:
Contrary to rules 2.1-1 and 7.2-4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, the respondent engaged in professional misconduct by failing to discharge all of his responsibilities honourably and with integrity, and communicating in a manner that was abusive, offensive, or otherwise inconsistent with the proper tone of a professional communication from a lawyer, in connection with litigation that was threatened or commenced against three former clients.
